Hi

I got the five recommended Vallejo colors to try out Doug Cohen's face painting method. Of course I don't have the HM article. Does anyone here have a rundown on the method?

Thanks,
Andy

Didn't someone have this article posted online somewhere? I thought it was over at the Vallejo acrylics website, but I can't find it.

Thanks guys.

I have the article from Vallejo, both digital and print version from HM a few years back. And I've seen Jaume's method. I'm curious about what Doug C does differently.

And you're probably thinking of the big Vallejo painting article from HM, Pete.

And yes it's on the Colorado Miniatures page, but that's a rather small document to use:

Roger, perhaps I'll talk to you about that scanner!

Thanks Gray

I'm more a fan of the subtle shading (Canadian, eh!), but I'm always keen to try something out. Your message describes things pretty well, but I'm not sure what you mean by painting from dark to light in one fell swoop.

Do you mean the base coat is dark, then progressively lighter colors are added, leaving increasing areas of the older, darker paint? Or is the face just 'painted', with dark color in the shadow areas, light on highlights etc., without glazing/washing to do so.

I have Lynn's book. Unfortunately my results never looked like his! And I feel many steps were missing from the descriptions or pictures in there.

Cheers
Andy
