Hi all

Please could any one help. I am trying to finish my 1:10 German paratrooper, but have come to a stop at the face. this is my first 1:10 face / model and i would like to get it right. I am using Vallejo paints to paint the body etc.. but i am not sure if these are right for the face. Does anybody know of any lesson / tips on the web that i could follow

Cheers

Matt

What are your options?

You can paint skin perfectly well with hobby paints like Vallejo (although the dead-matt finish can be a problem if you're seeking maximum realism). It's mostly a question of going slowly and methodically, working towards your highlights and shadows in thin layers.

THIN, THIN layers. I am still having to slap my painting hand when dipping in the paint... Got to get the idea that these are diluted washes, used as a tint to reflex the base color. Great question.

There is this on Michiagan Toy Soldier's Youtube channel.

Have a look through there. There was a 6 or 7 part video on painting an Andrea bust. Also, there was a seperate video on just painting eyes. The paints used in the bust painting series are the Andrea flesh paint set. VERY good paints (y)

Regardless, have a look through all of their videos. Very useful and worth watching.
