I like this. This is similar to making a true painting. There you do not use metallics when painting something with metallic surface. Like a silver vase or a copper kettle. You use colors and knowledge of colors...and how they blend and create an illusion of metal when used together.
While I think they look impressive, to me, they make a 3 dimensional figure look like a flat, and not a realistic presentation of real metal. But they are impressive.
Without a doubt the painting is very impressive....but I too would like to see this work on a turntable....besides that, It's really not my goal to make my work look that good.
I've never tried NMM techniques, but don't they only work from a certain viewing angle?
It's each to their own of course, but I reckon I'll stick to metallic paints.
