I am thinking of painting diamond pattren on a knights tunic. If i use precut tape masks will the shapes be too "neat" or precise or should I paint them by hand making them less exact?

Talino,
I would try it on a scrap piece of evergreen sheet or something like that first. Cut some of your tape pieces out to scale and lay them out and give it a shot. Then, maybe try just scetching them out on the surface of the test piece with a very sharp pencil and then freehanding them. Decide which you like better! That may also let you know if the tape will give you any other grief, like leaking around the edges! Good luck,

Hi there!

In my opinion, although the diamond pattern should be neat on a knight's tunic, you'd better practice it again and again by hand. However,if you choose to use precut tape(which is the best option, but very difficult...),try to be exact with the distances between the pieces and the dimensions of each piece to be the same as every other piece.
