Hi Everyone

Just starting my first roman figure.Can anyone tell me if the dress part can be painted red and not white as it is on the Verlinden box.

Just starting to do the low lights/shadows on face

Yup. Roman soldiers wore both red and white tunics.

Your be in a hurry. I think before you paint red read this:

Infact (that's what i heard) that the red is from the hollywood movies.

Hi Again

This is where I am up to on the face, I have most of the basic shading and highlighting done but lots more to do. I have made the eyes really white and darkened around them for the time being so I can see them clearly.

Marc could you send me the link relating to this figure on medrom as I could not find it.

Also can anyone tell me what colour his belt should be or show me a pic of one. A paint brand/colour would be good to.

I have no Delphiforum pro account. i cannot look again more then 3 monts.
But if you look at the Roman Republic on MedRom, i'm sure you can find alot information about the Roman's.

Hi ,
This is a nice figure , if you want Good references then can I dugest the Osprey books , there are on Roman Military clothing , also there is the EMS book No 2 - The Roman Legions recreated in Colour Photographs by Daniel Peterson , this has superb photos of re-enactors .
Nice start to the figure keep us posted .
