Hi,

Andreas has on their catalogue a parapet basket (somehow I think this has another name, maybe I'm wrong) but is there any other manufacturer that has them?

Cheers,
Paulo

Hi Paolo:

I believe you are talking about a gambion (or gabion). I know Armand Bayardi in the US carries them in his range . They come in 54mm and 90mm, both whole and half sections. Very well sculpted with sharp detail.

Try this site and look under "View catalog page here". It will give you a good idea of the quality and extent of the range.

And no, I have no conncetion with Michigan Toy:)

Years ago I made one for a crossbowman I did. They are not very hard to make.
You just need to draw a circle the size you want it. Draw this on a piece of wood then cut brass wire to length and place it in pre-drilled holes around the circle. Then take some very small gage solder and wind it around basket style until you get to the top. It may sound like a lot of work but it is not very hard. They look great when they are done. I will try and post a photo of the one I did.
