Hello everybody,
I put a report on the Paris/Montrouge competition wich took place last week-end on the Etendard Occitan website.
60 nice pictures of figurines are online.
It's in the webpage called "Les reportages".
Have fun...
Best regards
Jean-Philippe

I recognise that - it's a Warmachine 28mm, isn't it?
Is it one of yours?

good show photos, thanks for sharing.

No this 25mm is not mine, it's was part of a beautiful display.
The picture below is one of mine, it's a scratchbuilt bust of an arabic cavalryman from the 12th century.bye

Dear Jean-Philippe,

Let me congratulate you on outstanding work.

The bust is awesome well done. I also like the paiting of the La Torre pirate bust.

Cheers
Franco

Unbelievable work. The La Torre Pirate bust is very well done. I am just starting this piece. It's my first bust. I was wondering if the painter could be contacted off- line re the medium and cilors used. Jean-Philippe, your
interpratation is also very nice. May I contact you for a few pointers on painting this piece. Merci.

Ken

The interpretation of the pirate bust on the report is the one of Denis Nounis but unfortunatly he doesn't speak english...
Concerning mine I will be glad if I can help you. ([email protected])
I already wrote an article (in french) on our website : Etendard Occitan
There is also a second article by Steven Lemoing.
Here is my oil palette for the skin tones (ask if you want more details)...
Good bye

Unbelievable work. The La Torre pirate bust caught my eye as well. Do you know who the painter, the techniques, and colors he used. I am currently just starting this piece and have never painted a bust to date. Yours is also very well done. Jean-Philippe may I contact you as to some of colors you used in painting your example? Any help would be greatly appreciared. Merci.

Hey JP

Fantastic work. Your skin tone is very natural and I am very impressed with your work. I also like the pattern on the attire. Did you paint every single one of them or did you use some kind of the template to assist?

regards

No every thing is free hand painted. The base for the blue is acrylics and the design are made with oils....

Just revisited this thread;

No this 25mm is not mine, it's was part of a beautiful display

I have now seen this figure elsewhere; I hope to meet the painter, Cyril, and maybe Allan C and some other French painters in a couple of weeks. Failing that, at least see their work for real.

I only know Cyril trough a forum but I know allan who not only talented but also a very simple and nice person. I can tell you that their work is even more impressive in flesh than in pictures. The pictures make you forget the scale of these minis...
Where are you going to meet them ?

well i paint the odd Sci-Fi and fantasy piece, and just discovered Rackham.

In 2 weeks (october 2nd) is the Games Workshop UK games day. I know the french competition was superb, and the french contingent did very well in Germany recently. Now they're coming over here to raise the bar again; these guys are, IMHO, setting the standard for the smale scale miniature painting.

Have you seen the design they're putting on their T-shirts? I also think they plan to sleep in the doorway to the competition venue!!!

There's a meet at the show being organised by some Cool Mini or Not guys. Maybe I'll meet them, but it will be hectic

Are you talking about the chicken ? This the design of our mailing list and forum Figurines_fr.
It's a very funny painting coloured by allan.
I'm sure you will enjoy the show...

Yes The Chicken and the paintbrush! I hadn't realised it was the Figurines_fr group's design. I knew Allan had painted it; these guys seem very talented graphic artists.

I'm a member of the Figurines_Fr group. There are some excellent tutorials there.

Enjoy the rest of your birthday

Rob
