Greetings everyone.

Here is another Alpine Miniatures figure I finished recently. Back when this figure was released I knew I had to have one. It was just a matter of time and other priorities. Curiously, I have as yet to see this figure done up by anyone else. Why is that?

There is no doubt that this figure is closely modeled after SS Unterscharfurer Paul Klose, who was captured in a series of photographs during the Battle of Kharkov in the winter of 1942-43.

In any case, I had loads of fun painting up this figure, especially because of the different uniform elements. Hope you like the way he turned out.

Hi Joe,
For such a muted limited colour scheme you have done a fantastic job on him. The tones, blending and weathering you have achieved are spot on. Well done my friend you must be very pleased with this one.
cheers

Hi Joe

That's a nice figure there ...like the palette you've used very effective

A simple but well presented piece

Like the weathering on him

Thanks for sharing

Absolutely spot on, Joe. Everything blends together beautifully, & he's got a genuinely cold look about him. Standout area for me is the colour you've used for the helmet, it matches almost exactly the colour of genuine W-SS helmets I've seen in the past.
Excellent work, keep 'em coming!

Howdy Kevin, no homogeneous uniform on this guy. Lots of fun getting to do browns, white and field gray on one subject. Thanks for your comments as always and likewise, stay safe!

Thank you Chris. I wanted to depict an early issue M35 in what collectors call 'apple green' . I looked at loads of pictures and even dug out my RAL color swatches for this one! Thanks again and stay safe.

I have the (very similar) S&T "Unterscharführer" figure so I've never bothered picking this one up. But this is tremendous. In fact one of the best painted WWII Germans I've seen in a very long time in any scale. For me, it knocks the Alpine box art version into a cocked hat.
