Pegaso 54mm Russ Viking

Hi All

Well after many months of sitting on the bench half finished while I was busy painting commissions I finally got round to finishing off this wonderful little figure of a IX-Xcent russ Viking sculpted by the very talented Gianni La Rocca for Pegaso models.

A very well detailed kit and a pleasure to paint although the stripes drove me crazy on the trousers, by the time I finished the first leg I began to wonder if I would ever complete the second one.

The church ruin came from Fontegris Miniatures, I just adapted it slightly to fit the base and sculpted the floor slabs from Sculpy. The treasure chest and lid are included with the kit and are a nice addition.

All painted in oils and printers inks. This will be going off to its new home in September so I get to keep it for a few more weeks yet, that means I have to paint another for myself, but those stripes again HMMMM.

I painted this figure myself recently but cowardly painted the trousers plain white.

Well done - outstanding work. You have done a great job on those stripes. I have my Poste Miliotaire Rus all cleaned and ready for paint but I am also toying around with weather I go for stripes or not.

Nice one Tommi, like the completed very much, the stripes are spot on and I especially like the shield's in both cases, as they set off the base especially very nicely.
