Well I finally got this one cleaned up and ready for priming. It’s the new offering from Pegaso which will be released some time during August, what a beauty this one is, sculpted by the very talented Maurizio Bruno, in 75mm, its depicted as a Greek Mercenary.

The kit consists of eleven white metal cast parts and is packed in the usual sturdy box and a two layers of foam protecting the parts.

The right leg is separate from the main torso, the fit between the two parts is very precise and on close inspection shows no gaps or any filler needed. There is a location plug at the bottom of the foot to key into the column on the base.

The face shows nice level of detail and expression and is a good fit to the top of the torso. The plume is located in the top of the helmet by a small cast pin which locates into a small hole on to of the helmet, mine was not quite deep enough so I had to drill the hole out again to get a snug fit.

The cape is clean cast in one piece and is an excellent fit, there is a join seam at the back of the left shoulder where it joins onto the front part of the cloak, this is not a worry as once the shield is fitted then it is not visible from any angle.

The left arm with sword locates on using a square locating block, the fit is so good it just stays there when pressed into place.

The round shield is going to be a painters dream, very well cast and shows a very high level of detail on the inside, there is a locating plug for fixing it to the main torso as well as the fixing point on the arm, this also hides the join in the cloak.

The base is made up of two parts with a column section and a location hole for the right foot, this attaches to a well detailed base with various debris.

This is another first rate figure from Pegaso which is a must have for anyone interested in this area of history, every part is an exact fit and the cleanup is very minimal. There are many painting options on this figure, the shield has some very exciting painting possibilities.
Available some time in August 2008, keep a look out on the Pegaso web site for details.

Great figure and review, but the face looks kinda bizzare in the picture, are the detail good or is only the picture?

Its the angle of the spot lamp casting a shadow across the top of the eyes and bottom of the nose, I will take a better picture today and post up
Cheers
