Very, very good paiting, excellent grounwork.
Simply perfect.
Congratulations.

Well done! I am amazed at how quickly you have completed this impressive figure, something like this would take me months to complete. The ground work looks great.

Absolutely superb. If I have any critisism at all it is from my own personal taste. In my humble opinion the horse lacks a little shine/lustre to indicate a bit of sweat.

Overall very well done. Like the details and color choice. The ground is very nice. Other than that I have to agree with Ken. Horse is well painted, but it lacks a bit of depth in color and shine.
Thanks Ken and Piotrec for having a good look. Have to agree after taking a look at the photos that it doesnt have much sheen to the horse. I had sprayed some semi gloss in a few select ares but maybe needs a bit more to give it some more omph!!!!

Ben excellent painting and amazing groundwork, good luck at the comps(y)

Looks wonderful as everybody has said the water is a work of art to rival the figure!

Hi Mariobusta, it took a lot longer to do than whats stated in the SBS, I take photos and dont post them till I get time to do so. The whole kit probably took close on to 3 months to do, which is pretty quick for me in reality for this size of kit.

That makes me feel better ,I thought it was just me that takes so long.Even when I paint a bust and think that will be an easy one, it still takes me about a month.

I know what its like, I paint in spits and spurts, usually because I have to fit it in between work and family and life in general. It generally makes me more hungry to do more modelling when I do get the chance though.

Really like what you have done here Ben. The colours look great and the extra work on the bottom of the cape is a nice touch. The water effect works well....very brave of you on an expensive figure(y)

Ben, this is excellent stuff mate. The time you've spent on this has been worth every minute. Very clean, crisp painting there, along with top notch groundwork has paid dividends, this is better than the box art.

Not sure if I'll ever do this one, but if I do, I'll be sure to use this as reference, without question.

Cheers for your praise mate, not sure if its better than the box art as its some of the best painting I have ever seen, but I am happy with my job anyway. Would love to see you tackle this one as well, its a great kit and well worth it

Hi Ben
Aside from your stunning painting, what caught my eye was the water droplets coming off the horse's hooves...a terrific detail that really adds to the piece. This must be the showpiece of your collection.
As someone who has done one of Pegaso's 90mm figures, I commend you for this outstanding effort. There's no excuse for having to do 'surgery' to get the rider to fit the horse on a figure that expensive. I had the same trouble.
Your work is so skillful, one can't tell the trouble you had behind the scenes - the sign of a true artist(y)

Hi Mary, thank you very much for the compliments, I'm glad you saw the water droplets on his hooves, not sure if they worked as well as I had hoped but it does add to the effect. Yeah the fit of the rider was a bit bad, not sure if it was the kit or something I did or didn't do, in the end it all worked though.
Glad you liked him
