Is our friend Maurizio Bruno on vacations or something?I was looking for some more Napoleonics.
Carlos

I will agree with Marc. Probably Maurizio is preparing something good for May.. Who knows? I also like the soviet tank officer.

Xenofon

I like the Russian tanker out of them all.
However, I don't think it was sculpted by Mr. Hirano...

Hi Matthew and Eduardo,

I'm happy that you like the Onondaga Warrior. I did the research and I was aided by a member of the Onondaga/ Mohawk tribe who works for the Iroquois Tribal Museum.

I spoke with Pegaso to go away from the stereotype "Iroquois" and represent the difference of the six Nations, of the Onondaga, Seneca, Cayuga, Tuscarora, Mohawk and Oneiuda.

I can asure you this will be not the last figurine of the Iroquois league.

Best regards from Germany

Bruno

None are in my area of interest but I do admire the detail on the indian.

I guess La Rocca has moved on from medieval armored subjects to American West? :(

Bruno  what a great news you gave us, you make my day, really original idea and congratulation for the new projects ahead, also we have to congrats Pegaso for accepting the challenge.

When you have the time you should make a article on the figure costume, weapons etc...

Saludos Cordiales y Buena suerte Bruno

The Onondaga warrior will probably see my cash. I agree, the warrior is a different presentation from the 'standard' Iroquois. The Iroquoian (Great Lakes/Woodlands) tribes have always been my favourite topic when it comes to native figures. Living in this part of the world, I live not too far from the Six Nations of the Grand River reserve, the largest First Nations territory in Canada.

I'm curious what qualities the Onondoga has that makes it stand out as a part of that particular tribe and not one of the other Six Nations?, Or say Huron, or Delaware?

BTW, I really like the figure. It has a quality.

Hi John,

this question of the difference of the Woodland tribes is a big problem. This tribes very soon overtakes white mens cloth and the difference between the tribes faded more and more.
What reamins as a difference were the hairstyle and the numbers of feathers, in some cases also the way of tatooing.

My friend from the Iroquois tribal museum told me, that the tribal symbol of the Onondaga wich reamins at this time were two feather. For that reason a Onondaga warrior had alweays two feathers. This is the reason why we named the figurine Onondaga and not Seneca for example. The Seneca had another hairsyle and more feathers as tribal symbol.

I know, that the numbers of the feathers is not a big identification, but it is the only one we know today from this historical periode. For me it was important that Pegaso goes away from the stereotype "Iroquoise" and show the difference of the "Six Nations" even if this difference we know today are very little.

I'm also very pleased, that the Sculptor sculpted the typical small "Quillwork" decorations and not glass beads.

By the way a friend of mine who had good contacts to the Delaware tribe is researching for a figurine of a Delaware warrior.

I'm happy that you like this figurine and I think this will not be the last figurine of the "Six Nation" produced by Pegaso.

I always like to communicat with you as we shar the same interest in the history of the Native Americans.

Happy painting and best regards from Bavaria

Bruno
