John Bowery
A Fixture
Here I am again and sorry for the long wait.
Maureen and I got back from three weeks in England the week before the 25th Eaglequest show in Grapevine Texas.. Maureen's niece sent her a return ticket to England for her 80th birthday but I had to pay my way if I wanted to go. (Bummer)!!!!!! I had a week left to finish the model and it was close to being done before we went.
The reins were added prior to putting the shield on and was opposite to what I had anticipated. I though that it was better to get access to adjusting the reins and making sure that they did not interfere with adding the shield while the shield was off. This worked out fine. The spurs were added after the figure was in place as I thought that they might get knocked and broken putting him into the saddle. These were added after these photo's were taken.
I finished it as per the photos but Maureen thought that the sides needed to be finished as per the front. So I had two days to work before the show.
I managed to get that done and the following is the photo of the display at the show. It is not a good photo, but you get the idea.
And the new sides as per Maureen.
The figure one the small Eagle for the Best Figure and also the Large Eagle for Best of Show.
So I did what she said and maybe her advice did the trick for the eagle. I have given the model to Maureen since she was an inspiration and bought it for me for Last Xmas. It took six months of work evenings and week-ends, and she put up with that.
The display Photo shows the finished item and the others as prior to maureen's comment.
FineScale modeler was at the show and did Photo the figure.?
All comments encouraged and welcomed.
I hope that this has helped any that might like to build this kit.
I am on a little modeling break at this time.
Cheers
John
