Hi Dave. I can see that there's not much you need to learn .Your figures look quite good. A good tip to painting red in acrylics , especially the napoleonic reds is as follows. Go for a slightly darker shade with the base coat. This way you can use purer reds to highlight instead having to add yellows, oranges and flesh colors with the reds. That way you can keep the reds brighter. If on the other hand you want more faded shades of red , then mixing in some flesh or ochre colors will help. I hope this can be of help.

Dave,
Wow...nice work...I wish my early stuff looked this good.
In terms of the red, not sure if you use oils or acrylics, but I am an oil guy. So, my only piece of advice when highlighting red, use cadium red light and shade with a rose red. Your mid-tone is blended at the edges and you will be surprised how nice it looks...
I am sure others will offer some hints, too...
Good luck, and I can't wait to see this guy come to life

All the best

Patrick

Dave, I use flesh colors to highlight red. By the way, that's some awesome looking groundwork you have. Looking forward to seeing how you paint the figure now.
