Add couple of armour pictures. Interesting to see the Do/chest armour is bullet proof .

Tameshi gusoku (bullet tested) armor of the Tatehagido type from the Edo period (early 17th century and 18th century). It features a chest piece made of vertical strips of iron riveted together which would actually protect the warrior from firearms. This particular set armor was tested with three bullets fired at the chest — they left dents (and in one case, a residue of lead) but the wearer would have been unharmed.
