Here is the relatively new Sioux Warrior in 54mm. The shield design is based on one I found at Prairie Edge and features a Thunder Pony motif. The original base has been mostly coverd leaving only the canteen which had an longer strap added. The glove come from the Andrea Custer’s Last Stand set and the straw hat, noted to have been worn by cavalry troops on the plains was cut from a head of unknown origin (a set I bought and forgot I had…Don’t you hate when that happens!) The grasses are from Woodland Scenics and from a friend and the ground work is Celluclay. He was painted almost entirely in Andrea and Vallejo acrylics with a bit of oil wash here and there.

Thanks. I tried something different. For the highlights, I went with thin layers of Vallejo Games bone white follwed by Ivory then a very thin overlay of the original red. For the shadows, I added Vallejo Games Midnight Blue to the base color. I think it was an article by Lou Masses that suggested Prussian blue as a shading agent. This was the closest I had.
