The Home/Front page is now complete and running (still a bit more polishing to go) I have the information on the home page cached on a 15 mintue rotation so don't panic if your post isn't shown immediately (one server database query every fifteen minutes is MUCH better than 15 member database queries in one minute)
Note: images only show in the home page when a post has an attachment.

The vBench, Painting, Sculpting and Review forums now have a thumbnail displayed next to the topic listings. The preview thumbnails ONLY show if the member posted using the built in "attachment" system. There is a movie "how-to" on how to use the attachment system : Using Attachments

"shortkey" ? I'm not sure what that is -

if it is signature related the signatures have limited number of lines, this is to prevent abusers from using long quotes, speeches, lyrics - it helps to clean the forum and not detract..
