I'm considering a diorama that will need one or two running pigs. I'm thinking of sculpting these myself. I've never sculpted animals, so can anyone offer some pointers?

John,

There's a great Tamiya barnyard animal set which includes pigs that might be a good reference. I think it costs about five bucks.

Hi John,

The proces is the same as with humans, you should get some pictures of running pigs to get the animation right and some drawings for proportions. I think that sculpting animals is actually a bit easyer than humans because we are not so prone to noticing mistakes.
Here's a pic of a cat I've done some time ago

thanks gordy!

the tamiya set that btavis suggested could be very useful as basic kit and you would only have to convert the legs or you could use the kits head (for me that is the trickyest part) and sculpt the rest yourself.
here's a picture that might help you and a link to the site i found it on, hth.
