We're glad to introduce PiLiPiLi FLATS, a new series of one-sided 'flat' figurines cast in thick resin.
Original subjects combined with the large scale (120mm) and the high relief of the sculpture make PiLiPiLi FLATS the perfect introduction to the colourful world of flats.
The first two releases are inspired by the nose art on US combat planes during WWII. It's also a homage to the glamorous pin-up girls of the 40's and 50's. Check 'em out!

Thanks, folks!

Being a former IPMSer myself, I guess these two figures will fill the gap between the aircraft modeller's world and the figure painter's.

The series is designed with the novice in mind. The larger scale and higher relief will make painting easier than on the traditional flats. In fact it's not so different from painting a regular 3-D figure, only quicker and offering far more options in colours, patterns and styles.

I finished these two figures in 4 painting sessions (2 sessions per fig). Here are some closer looks. Hope you like 'em!

Comments and questions are welcome, of course.

Cheers,
Quang

I think its a great idea and thank you! Your right, its definitely a product innovation with their larger scale and higher relief making painting easier than on the traditional flats. I'd actually like to try one having never done a flat before. Heh, and I won't even have to worry about sticking my hands to the desk again with the super glue!

Cudos!

John

Hello.
Congratulations for the idea.
Allow me a question, (or comment or another idea.........) it reckons to do in flat figures some of the figures that procuce in 3d.

Again, cogratulations.

Un saludo.

Is it me or does the "in the mood" gal resemble Nicole Kidman?

It's you, Keith. I know damn too well that she won't look a bit like Nicole Kidman should I wanted to! :(

Great stuff, Quang! The babes are delicious! I hope you'll consider some historical subjects too!

In due time, Pat. For the moment, I'm too busy investigating the babes.

Why not, Jose? I'll think about it when I finish my investigations (see above).:p

Cheers,

Quang

Quang, Very cool. I've seen nose art done in the round before and really like your "flat" versions. Great stuff.~Gary
