Hi All,
I have had a great couple of days and yet another change!!!!! I have pondered and pondered over the FLH figure and then remembered I had a W.I.P. of Commissary Dalton that I had converted. So I have changed the figure for him, I have weathered up and finished the next three figures, with the exception of a few accessories. I have put the final three in the mix (still to finish) so you can see the difference in the tunics. I actually start out with that bright colour on all my red tunics and knock them back.

Three more to finish......hooray

A great leap forward mate....this is going to be a real stunner.....then again......it already is ....crack on Richie....the end is nigh :woot:

Hi Kevin, Nap, Ron & Colin,
Apologies for the late reply but I have been beavering away at this.

Well it's about 14 months down the line and I'm finally calling time on this epic build. What can I say, but I have been very privileged to have you all on this journey with me and very humbled by some of the comments. This was started and conceived out of love and tragedy, the love I have for this period and the tragedy of losing my Dad, I hope I have done him proud, there were a lot of heroes at Rorke's Drift but my biggest hero will always be my Dad who I loved and admired unreservedly.

Whilst not having the physical guiding hand of my Dad anymore, I have had all your guiding hands and I am privileged to call you all my brothers and better brothers I could not wish for. I want to thank the thousands of people that have looked in even if they have not commented. I hope some people have been inspired even if not in this time period.

I think I have created and captured the scene I was looking for, even if my painting style lacks in some departments. I wanted the tight claustrophobic and battlefield look and I believe I have them all suitably weathered to portray this as an overall look.

Finally, I must also thank my beautiful wife, she has always been a constant support even after turning her home into a modellers battlefield.
cheers
Richie

Hi Scotty,
Thank you mate. Have I started the next one:eek:, I have not got over this one yet! I think a few single figures from my grey army next, but who knows if I'll do another like this, us chimps are a bit banana's:D.

Brilliant Work Richie....you've absolutely nailed it for me...I've really enjoyed following this and appreciate the sentiments behind it...I too think the world of my Dad and he sparked the interest in this period of our history for me so know exactly where you're coming from its a credit to you and your Dad mate..all the best...Kevin

Well done Richie,...you've created a vibrant, dynamic snap shot of history which honours all those who were involved in that history. A snap shot that will endure forever,....you deserve to feel very proud that you've completed such a piece.....and I'm sure your dad would feel the same....well done mate.
