OK...so we arrived...we print the first prototype and now we are ready for casting and producing...
Here just a preview of our new Plague Doctor.
It is a busts 1/12 little bit smaller then 1/10 scale but the sheet with the infected corpse would be too big. this Busts as usual is based not only on some pictures, but on a scientific research on. Be clear is not A steampunk subject.
Project was Scientificmodels (me)
3D Simone Rasetti
Box Art Luca Vergerio

The 'beak' would be filled with aromatic herbs to ward off the noxious 'humours' which were thought responsible for the plague.

Hi Guys

That's one very clever idea sculpting looks great , look forward to seeing the castings

Good to see models that are so scientific originally here on PF

Thanks for sharing

Really like the subject. A genuine historical subject with a fantasy twist often fails but this works well.
The plinth (base) will be a critical part of the composition.
Cheers
Derek

thank you it was based on some historical documentation, I have a colleague archeologist, he helped in description of exactly doctor's suit.

yes this is the idea based also on our name...Scientific models... we are trying to offer some oft tally different from the rest of competitor... another way...that's it...busts are already in casting....

we studied it....it will fit a standard 6-6,5 cm plint...

The subject is great, and regrettably, so relevant to our days. Excellent idea with the head under the patched blanket.

You must trust in me this project was before all this Chaos... it was born because I started to study the invention of Suits, and plague doctor is the first ever done NBC protection Suit. We discuss to much if was the correct moment to produce them, but we are suffering crisis too much 8events closed, few order on website) so we decided also to show as sort of information about what is a pandemia...

Fantstic idea, my only concern is how well the bust will be supported as it looks a bit flimsy
Steve

If this is anywhere near the quality of their busts of Darwin, Earhart and Picard it will be a real winner!
Those 3 busts were among the best I've seen for both sculpting and casting--not a single seam or plug

Have to agree with all the others - this piece is a fascination. As well as it's historical fidelity, it oozes so much menace
and fear. I guess this 'creepiness' is fully intentional, so it's regrettable that the box art is so cartoon-ish. Perhaps it's just
an interim design and the final artwork will show the figure to its full advantage.

mike, for our Box art, we decide to don't use renders or photos as others, but we followed an idea behind...however, we are trying not to make this too hard. It is still an hobby. We are surrounded by strong images, art can help us even a little to dream without diminishing...this is our personal opinion...and all criticts are accepted however...

for example... this is box art referred to Amelia...some people likes some no...we wanna change a little bit, and making also our product very easy to distinguish from competitor. We Starts our idea exactly from a draw and this is the bond , the connection between our idea and our products, we don't wanna give the idea to the modellists how it must done, or painted...is just an interpretation...
