Hi Jean Paul
Couls you share with us on how you got your blue dry matt , as you know a problem for most oil painters.
Brilliant paint job.

Wow !!!

23 comments in such short time !!! Thx U all !!!!!

Its a premiere for me to receive so many comments in less than 24h.

Its a great pleasure, after longs nights and days of painting, to see that you like my work. It's warmer than shows medals. Thx again everyone.

Some of you want to know my Blue mix.
I took Indigo + cerulean blue + a bit of burnt sienna and just a little of deep red cadmium.
That mix is my darkest color.
I, then, mix White with a bit of burnt umber. This mix will be added to my previous mix until I reach a good clear blue. And more of white mix for highlights.

I use any kind of oils tube : LB, Sennelier, Old Holland, W&N, Rembrant....

Figure Mad (Dave) : We all know here in France Jean Marie Daniel. And his official painter (jean noel Courtois) is a really good friend of mine. So we know all news before others. And of course the trumpeter is (or will be soon) on my bench.

Thx again all !!!!

Thanks for the info, but how do you ensure the blue goes Matt?
Brian

I use old humbrol as undercoat.
That old humbrol absorbs quite quickly the oil. And turns the oils mat.
