Been flat out with work & life lately Ski so haven’t been so active here, but am keeping abreast of your threads.
UBoat was a stunner & this one is following along nicely too.

I was fortunate enough to visit Point du Hoc just over a month ago. Incredible & moving experience.
Story of the lads there was just heart wrenching in those few days spent from the landing, through to the final securing of the Point cut of from main force down the coast. Couple of snaps I took shared below maybe of interest.
Ruck on Buddy!

Happy, Merry Festive Season greetings to you & yours.

Hi Ski, Aside a couple of boofs which I might add you resourcefully solved , the painting highlights the sculpting so well , the joined figures are going to look great. The detail painting on the various pouches etc are a pleasure to see. Look forward to seeing Bruce's arm. Have fun and a happy holiday this festive season. Nap
Kevin, thanks, Me Hermano! I appreciate those kind words you always expound, worth counting on, Mate!

Wow Ski that's heck of an update, glad it's not just me who makes ,"boofs" or as I call the cock ups, just spent an afternoon resculpting a helmet., .................Must admit though I need to get my eyes tested as I still don't see the tonal book you mention. Cheers Simon
Thank you, Simon. It's part of the Sport, I recon, we never seem to have a flawless game, but that's what makes it so interesting. We'd be mighty bored without a good fight!

I can only say Wow at this stage. Malc
Malc, you are too kind, Brother!

Making boofs? Hey, I specialise in that! It's overcoming them that is key.....
How right you are, Nigel, how right you are. Thanks, Amigo!

Thanks for following along, Mario, I appreciate the encouragement!

That musta been a little bit on the tough side to understand what all of these guys had to deal with, all along the Normandy Coast, but especially these Rangers. This is probably why I so much enjoy this hobby, history retold in miniature, but with flare, class, and a real desire to honor those whom we portray. Wouldn't you agree, Mike? Thanbks for posting your pics, that's an impressive sight.

Thanks for those kind words and the occasional push in the right direction, means a lot, Brother!

P.S. Mike, is that you climbing the cliff? If it is, yur one tough bugger! And, BTW, there's a reason they say, "Don't mess with Texas!" I take them seriuously.

Thank you, Gentlemen!

“... you climbing the cliff...” :)

You gotta be joking Ski!
It was local conservation officer who happened to put on demo of climb while we were there.
Notice thick lush grass on slope & top, plus on parts of cliff - maybe groundwork work aspect to help tell this story.

:ROFLMAO: Well, with enough rope and a team of mighty mules we all could make that climb, lol. Ya, things hurt a little more at our tender age of 39, but it don't hurt to dream again.

That does look very lush, awesome photo, and I'd say that fellow has a tough job, getting paid to play.

Merry Christmas, Brother, and all yall, too!

Hi Ski

Thankfully I haven’t missed your updates on this , but it’s great to see Mike’s pictures of the actual area , no doubt a moving experience to visit

Look forward to seeing more on this

Happy climbing

Hi Ski Thankfully I haven’t missed your updates on this Nap
You haven't missed much, Kevin. Looks like activity will be low for a brief spell. I just sprung for Red Oak boards and tuned up the Grizzly table saw. All the shop gear has been prepped and proper adjustments made to pump out another curio cabinet. If I hold off any longer this vignette will be completed without a home to go to.

Besides, when the cabinet is done I can gently, carefully, and most diplomatically evict my wife’s curios from my “model” cabinet, HA!

Oh you brave soul you, good luck!

Happy New Year

Cheers Simon

Many Happy New Years to you too, Simon! :D

Actually, Simon, if you have the right gear, and just a little know-how, you can make it look like you're a Pro, HA! Remember now, the sign of a good carpenter is knowing how to hide his mistakes,:ROFLMAO::sneaky:

No worries, Brotha, been crankin out saw dust for a long time. Trick is, keep the bloody fingers away from the blade, lol. I do not own a "Saw Stop", but I'd love to have one;)

Working the Shoulder Fit

Just before I shut down the bunker to build another cabinet, I was working the shoulder fit. Once these two figures are solidly anchored to the cliff, I will do some minor shaving and filing to clean up the rebuilt connection and then paint any areas required. Remember, there never was a fit issue until I neglected to pay attention to the fit when I first glued the arm in place. Steve did a great job making this connection, I just boofed it up, Lol.

Once the new cabinet is finished, I will resume this vignette. It shouldn’t be too long; it’s a simple design and I have the right tools.

Thanks for watchin, more coming soon. Cheers, Ski.
