Hello Anthony,
Good work of painting, it's no easy reproduce the colour "cramoisi" of the polish lancers. Only two little things, for historical precision, an heritage of the original Andrea figure: The trumpets no had moustaches, and this uniform, used until 1810, had the aiguillettes (the white shoulder cords) on the right arm. The cords passed on the left arm whe was introduced the white uniform, from 1810 to 1814.

Hello again Marcelo, thanks for the posting. I was not aware about the moustaches, non of my references inluded them at all.

Regarding the aguillettes, I was aware of the change around 1810, but decided to press on with the kit as it was. Maybe the kit's wrong,, I dont know. Anyway, I was a kit I really enjoyed and recommend it to others.

Hi Anthony,
The kit is not wrong, lancers had aiguillettes on the left shoulder, because they might obstruct the use of the lance. The trumpeters instead had the aiguillettes on right shoulder until 1810 (when they had the crimson jacket white lapels you painted), then changed the colour jacket in white with crimson lapels and silver galons, from 1810 to 1814, and the aiguillettes passed on the left arm, as their companions lancers.

Hi Anthony,
I want say you another particular for the precision. When the polish horsemen were attached to the Imperial Guard, at the beginning they were a light cavalry Corp, not lancers. They received lance only in 1811, because Napoleon had been really impressed from russian cossacks and he decided to form Corps of lancers in the French army. So he formed the Polish (1st rgt of Imperial Guard), the Dutch Red Lancers(the 2nd rgt of Imperial Guard), the 6 rgts of Line french lancers, green dressed with crested helmet and 3 rgts of Polish Line lancers.
Therefore in 1811, using the lance, the aiguillettes passed on the left arm. So, the Andrea's figure is datable from 1811 to 1814, while your crimson uniform of the trumpet is until 1810, the first period of Polish Lancers, when they had not lance and still carried aiguillettes on the right arm.
Best regards
