Hi planet

I haven't been posting anything from my workbench for quite long time, but that doesn't mean that I left the figure hobby for ever :) Here I am and I want to share with you a scene that I have just finished. The scene is based upon a XIX century ilustration (actually etching) made for a polish national novel "Pan Tadeusz" by Adam Mickiewicz, telling a story about a discord between two polish noble families. The main plot is set in 1811-12, the background for these events are the incoming armies of Napoleon marching towards Russian land. Here's the picture:

These three gents are one of the main characters from the book. This illustration is for one of the final chapters of the book, when everything comes to a happy end luckily.

The figures are 54mm tall. I used Magic Sculpt and Greenstuff to sculpt them. The house wall is made of plaster, balsa and plastic sheet. The bush is made of sea foam and photoetched leaves. I used W&N and Talens artistic oils and Vallejo acrylics to paint the whole thing.

Radek
fantastic, I had a look at the SBS on your blog, beautifully thought through.
It's this attention to detail that raises the bar for the rest of us, for example the way the roof is cut at the angle rather than simply following the horizontal.
Just great.
thanks for posting
Derek

very origional and superbly executed
for some reason I particularly like the boots of the figure on the left the creases in the leather are perfect

Hello guys.

I'm very glad you like it. Lately I decided to switch to creating vignettes instead of bigger things. I hope that I'll be able to show something new soon, but this time from WW 2.
Thanks again.

Radek

P.S.
Derek the roof was the most frustrating thing to do for me in months. Cutting all those elements and gluing them together took me 4 evenings...

That's a really beautiful work overall. I was always envy of people who can turn a drawing to a sculpt so nicely. Well done.
