Einion,

Here are some pictures of my Makita drill with a 0.3mm drill mounted.
Yes, I do use it with one hand on the drill and the other on the figure. Again, its weight gives stability.

Cheers,
Adrian

I bought a corded, multi-speed dremel in 93... Used it in the construction of 4 motorcyles and my son used it while building 3 or 4 pedal powered choppers. It cut and ground steel, polished and engraved aluminium and was just an allround handy little bugger. It got transfered to the model bench and the only problem was dragging the cord around the bench and knocking stuff over. I tend to be a touch hamfisted at the best of times

To counter the cord issue I bought a battery Dremel. I ran into the same problems as the elder Colin ... fine for light drilling, brushing and sanding but NFG for anything heavier. And the battery only lasts about 15 minutes before needing a charge.

So the corded one was reinstated and the cordless became a paint stirrer

Dremel for me too I've not had it long 12 months or so but it's worth it's weight in gold IMO

Thanks for the votes and comments guys. Easy guess that Dremel would be the leader in numbers, but I wouldn't have expected this large a margin.

Como drill for me, had over 20 years of use and still going strong, had some repairs as been dropped more than I dare mention
Como Drill for me also
does the job , and like Gra said mine's also about 20 plus years old!
Thanks for the mentions, never heard of them before.

These have got to be the best value possible for those in the UK - 40 quid for a quality drill set? Bargain! Their P&P is very low too which I always take as a sign of a good company.

...

I'm heading for a Foredom. Given their normal pricing and the lighter requirements for most hobbyists they aren't an easy sell, but over time if you're expecting to do major amounts of grinding of hard materials they begin to make sense. I was leaning to one anyway given three key features, but I've found an online supplier where they're cheaper than I can get a Proxxon, Dremel or Minicraft, so that makes the choice a no-brainer for me.

Thanks for that Carl, if I were still in the market for that type of kit I'd have been tempted.
