Well I sent a painted bust to Canada it took about 6 weeks to get there .

All properly pined, glued and very very carefully packaged and it arrived as if it had been booted up in down the customs office .
Head detached , back pack , and eagle off the staff , dont think I will ever send another completed model through the post ; in fact I won't .

Agreed Ron. I had a similar experience with a figure to S Africa. I spent two days designing a nuclear-proof package- it would have survived a direct hit from an '88 but it wasn't post office/customs proof.

The answer is just buy from UK suppliers temporarily-no delays with first class mail

Keith

Totally agree. I ordered from El Greco and delivery was slightly delayed due to local sorting office staff being hit heavily by Covid, Peterborough is worse now than it was at the first peak. Recently ordered from Ken at Mil-Mart which was posted Wednesday and arrived the next day. Very rare I would order from abroad at the best of times but at the moment I wouldn’t consider it.

However, I appreciate that many folk on this forum could easily survive not ordering more figures but spare a thought for the sellers who may not survive a loss of custom while the world sorts itself out.

Did the RAF manage to blow your roof off the other day?

We get it all the time, Tornadoes from Lincolnshire do vertical climbs over our back garden so they don’t upset Lincolnshire residents :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

You will have to put more money in the RAFA collector's tin. TBH we're on the circuit for RAF Brize Norton so we get 30-40 heavies around every day, and a lot of tankers coming home from who knows where in the middle of the night.... Sorry mods - we've wandered off piste:rolleyes:

Yup...the Russia to UK flight ban has been cancelled already.

Ask most companies and it's more down to having to register with the HMRC so that they collect the VAT on sales under £135 to send in to the HMRC, and sales over £135 will be collected by customs. Most companies don't want to have to create two prices depending on how much a customer is spending. So until it is worked out better many are just not shipping to us.

Interesting to get up to date info, and thanks for clarifying the vat situation, l can understand why the government are doing it but it is going to increase costs for us all....l suspect my grey army is going to be my main source in future. With very occasional purchases.

They stay in Lincolnshire too as we get a weekly airshow of Tornadoes and Awacs but best of all the occasional Spitfire, Hurricane and Lancaster flying over the house. Yes it can be loud but always a nice sight.

I wouldn't worry too much guys,as i've just received a bust from Italy in 10 days,as i always order by contacting the owner of the company by facebook messenger, not on their site.I think i heard that Russia closed it's own borders.Regarding the Brexit deal, always remember it works 2 ways.France and Germany are struggling to get the vaccines,as they were slow to pre order the vaccine. There is only one country on the planet that's ahead of the good old U.K. and that's Israel. Why? Forward thinking boys.
