........I am not sure of Mark S comments. SmalI and light items ok but see the huge increase when sizes change or weights, they are far from cheap.

I think the cost of Royal Mail postage would have been no cheaper than he paid if not more, to Australia, and i have posted large orders there, you can be looking at post into the hundreds so I strongly disagree with his views.

For example to Australia up to 2kg is £24.65 and that is with minimal cover and providing dimension do not exceed length of 60 cm (90cm combined volume) , outside that prices rocket immensely and I mean rocket so Royal Mail is far from cheap........"

Well, what the hell aren't you sure about?!!??....and what the hell do you strongly disagree with??!!?

I've simply told you what my own experience has been and what the charges are like IN COMPARISON with other postal services worldwide.
Why would I want to bull$hit about >>>>ing postal charges for christ sake, I don't >>>ing work for Royal mail you .................How can anyone strongly disagree with someone else's personal experience unless you believe they're lying......:sour:

That's nice now we publicly post private messages here do we?
Jeez you really are something else mate.

Gra30 -"Received this very not so friendly response from Mark S, I will think twice about posting anything in the future"

I can all only hope and pray that's true.

Gentlemen,
Please don't let this get out of hand and become personal for the sake of our modelling brotherhood, which is the core of this forum - a brotherhood. I am sure everyone does not want to see our brotherhood divided for something that has been overlooked, misconstrued or lost in translation. A forum of sharing, help, support, advice, encoragement and yes - opinions.
I have the utmost respect for you guys in this post and you are very talented modellers and contributors on here. Please lets not fall out publically or privately over this. I'm sure if you met each other you would get on great as you both have a huge passion for this hobby and these opinions if discussed face to face would have a different outcome.
(y)
cheers
Richie

Oh no,no,no please stop with your puerile pretend hurtfulness, I'm welling up here with puerile pretend sympathy.
To those that have known and have met me,I leave all my worldly goods......and please know I'm just going outside and I may be some time.

P.S. I blame Ron for putting up such a controversial thread subject as posting charges!!

Mammamia what have I done!!!

Jeez, that's a hell of a lot more interesting than a dot I have to say.
Ok, now that the silly business is out of the way......consider this, If someone was to say to me 'I strongly disagree with your opinion I would gladly welcome that, and approach it as an opportunity to perhaps see things in a way I hadn't considered before...And indeed this does happen a lot unsurprisingly and as I said I welcome that.

But when I share an account of my own personal experience which as far as I'm concerned is indeed fact and is indeed fact, and I'm told that you strongly disagree with my comments, that simply means I'm lying. If my own stated experience is declared wrong then I'm obviously lying.
If you have an experience that's different to mine then fine, say your piece but declare it as such. In other words simply state that your own experience on this issue is different to mine....or my own experience with blah blah differs from your own, would be the polite way to approach it...Or I've experienced something different to your own experience...you know something along those lines wouldn't be so bloody savage and accusing.

It's got to be clear to even the most broad browed hairy sapien that when you strongly disagree with anyone's account of their own personal experience you're accusing them of misleading or dishonest testimony. It may seem to be semantic interpretation but it's all the difference between causing offense and civilised discussion I reckon.

Anyway, the entertainment factor here must have dipped to an all time low by now so I've had my last comment on this thread.....

P.S...Just PM me Gra30 for details of my upcoming Winter Solstice Party, Love to see you there if you can make it...........We get naked and go all silly...cheers.
