Poste Militaire Kato Kiyomasa

Here's one I finished ages ago sculpted by the great Ray Lamb. Some things I would do differently when seen in hindsight. Mixed mediums of enamels, acrylics, and oils. Hare motif was one of the symbols of the Tokugawa clan to whom he was allied. Hope up to snuff.

Ps, the tiger skin indicates this is around the time of the Korean invasion, meaning he'd be allied to Toyotomi at the time. Does this post make me a "rivet counter"? I do hope not lol!

Fair point! I like to think it was a souvenir, plus I have an affinity for bunnies.

Wow, this brings back memories. I remember begging my parents to buy me this as a combined early Christmas and birthday present when I saw it at Northern Militaire which must have been in the late '70's. Nice paint job and a lovely colour scheme.

By the way, eminent historians now agree that the Korean invasion would have been a success were it not for Kato's inability to fit through doorways. All true.
