Hi all

My latest work. This is my first bust ever. I found out that painting a bust is quite something else compared with painting a full figure in 54, 75 or 90 mm. Anyways, it was a fine and enjoyable experience.

Beautiful!!!!!A charming and highly artistic approach to bust painting.Congrats!

Oda.

Johan whatever way you went about painting a larger scale than that you are used too you have ended up with a very nice result, in fact it almost looks like you have added another style to painting Busts, looking forward to seeing some more of your skills, stick some of your smaller scale stuff on PF as well.

Johan I seen your other work on your weblog and its excellent and I can see how you moved your techniques across onto the large scale bust and it worked well, I am sure you will have developed some ideas of your own while working on the bust that you will apply to your next one, I am heading in the opposite direction, my last 4 pieces have been Busts and I am now trying a 120mm figure so I hope my eyes can adjust to painting the smaller details lol.

Johan, i've visited your Weblog and i simply love your work !
what i liked the most is to see the evolution of your style from a very classical historical way to something further by adding some fantasy way of paint while staying historically accurate.
congratulations mate !

Again, many thanks for your comments regarding the evolution in my painting style. It is true that a while ago I was pondering with the idea of using some sort of a 'fantasy' approach to paint my historical minis. It is odd that you come up with this observation regarding my latest work. Anyway, if I already hit it, it happened all intuitive rather than intentional. And to be honest, I was even convinced that I did not succeed. Maybe it is the use of more vibrant colour that does the trick. I do not know. Nevertheless you have made me very happy with your feedback!

Your comments are very much appreciated too. Thank you for your time to react!

Best regards
