Hi guys,

I picked up this rather old Andrea 54mm Praetorian Tribune figure last weekend for $10 and couldn't resist.;) He's primed and almost ready for painting. Just a bit more gap filling and mould line removal to do.

I haven't picked up a paint brush in earnest since I started sculpting back in June, so I thought I'd have a go at this litte fellow while I wait for my Super Sculpey to arrive.

As a member of the organising committee for WASMEx one of my jobs on Sunday morning was to help the people with kits for sale at the Swap N' Sell set up their tables.

This gave me a chance to spy out what they had, and put first bid on anything I wanted. As they say, the early bird gets the worm.;););)

G'day Tony.
That must have been a sure fire way to hitch a ride on a passing chariot, showing off a nice bit of leg like that!
I look forward to seeing how this one develops.
Good to see you're still able to paint despite your sore hands.

A bargain pick up Tony, which I'm sure it will not look so old after your painting!!

Ray ;)

Base Coats

Hi guys,

I've base coated most of the figure in Vallejo acrylics. No shading or highlighting done yet. My painting skills are a bit rusty;) and 54mm is much smaller than I'm used to, but I'm having fun.:D

Hi guys,

I've been working on adding the shadow tones.

I've added a purple trim around the edges of the pteryges hanging from the shoulders and around the waist.

Next step will be to add the upper highlights and then concentrate on blending.

Sorry about the out of focus pics:eek:

Your doing a great job Tony, to bad about the pictures. But this is a different discipline, and I'm struggling myself over and over again. ;)

Thanks Marcel,

I probably need to get a better camera (and learn how to use it). My current camera simply wont focus on fine detail and everything ends up fuzzy. Its easier to get pics in focus when the figures are 350mm but at 54mm I really struggle to take good pics.

My camera squints too,Tony.
I've got the digital version of a Box Brownie but I get by.:(
But these pics are good enough to see your work on this one is coming along nicely!

Gidday Tony

Figures looking good, look forward to seeing it all completed with a base and all.
Hey he,s not looking for Brian is he??

Cheers Andrew
