Hi guys! So, my first post from the bench. Since some years I am doing film-, comic- and game characters from the themes I love, which is mostly monsters and mayhem. I know, not too much of you are in this stuff, but it is the helluvafun to do it and who knows? Maybe some day I will do some "realistic" figures.
This Predator is done in Magic Sculpt over an Preiser Adam and Eve range figure. First, all bigger details have to be layed out and now I am in the phase where I would sculpt the details of the armor, the weapons and overdo the helmet. There are tons of great Preds out there (think of the stuff of Narin, but they are mostly done in 1:6 which is way too big for my taste). The Predator here will have a spear in this hand and point with the other arm. I have decided not to follow the known design of the films, I try to incorporate own ideas in the sculpt and try to place my Pred in the "universe" of the creatures. Now, maybe you like him:

So far for now, more next time!

I really like what you have done so far. Some good shapes and the armour is coming along fine. Once you bulk up a few areas, and add the dreads, I think he will really look like the menacing hunter that he is. One point that maybe worth noting, tone down the size of the cod piece, its a bit over powering for the rest of the figure (waiting for the jokes!!!!)

Ha, cool idea! Problem was not finding enough good reference material. I have all Making of books from ALIENS VS PREDATOR, the big Stan Winston book and several other stuff, but found nothing which fits my ideas a bit. This pred here is a bit old, some years now in the making and I have seen some details I want to change. It is always the way when you leave a project over the years and find yourself imprisoned between new gained abilities to sculpt and the idea of "emotions" you have for your elder work. Grmbl, and thats so damn uncook because I have tons of work in progress... Thanks for stoping by!
