Hi

i have finally got around to finish painting this bust I released a little while ago. Prettyjohns VC, the first Royal Marine to receive the Victoria Cross for action during the Crimean war.

One slightly unusual aspect is that as a Royal Marine he wears the army style red jacket, but being a Marine he has the blue, naval ribbon for the VC.

it was painted using Vallejo acrylics.

Mobo & Wally - Glad you like it. Rather like the blue ribbon on the VC, unusual and it stands out more than the army red version.

You have been busy on this ...certainly looks good , like the medals and the rank badges

This was a good choice of subject as well with the blue VC ribbon

Currently my version is being base coated ...so this is good to see your completed version

I am in the middle of painting this. Excellent figure at a realistic price. The medals and large sleeve badge are well sculpted and the three stripes on the left arm even have the bullion patterning on them!
