Here are some photos of a new sculpt from Maurice Corry for Mitches Military Models depicting Sergeant Ewart of the Scots Greys in the act of capturing the Eagle of the 45th Regiment. The figure is almost complete with a couple of minor additions to be made.
After taking the pics I realised that I'd put the sabretache on back to front!
We will post details of when it will be available which should, befittingly, be for the Edinburgh Show on 5th September.
Price will be £70.00 which includes worldwide postage and £65 at the show.
If anyone wishes to pre-order please contact me on [email protected]
Thanks
Ross

Brilliant and short gloves to all you need now is a French infantryman for him to give the chop

Beautiful rendition - I love the interaction in movement between rider and horse. The horse looks great and is very well up to the perfect standards of past Roll Call releases. The only thing I would reconsider is the position and angle of the flag - it will get in the way if he wants to perform this blow with the sabre. So at the moment no Frenchman has to worry about getting chopped and might try to reconquer the eagle of the Regt.

Cheers, Martin

I think you are right Martin. It is a separate piece so the angle can be amended according to the preference of the modeller. We wouldn't want napoleon getting it back!
Thanks

Thanks Ian
The addition of the frenchman would be good but we think it does work well on it's own. As you know price is a big factor and we want to keep it at a reasonable level, an additional foot figure would increase this. This is not to say that it is something we couldn't re-visit in the future and offer it as an addition. I know the old man has an 80mm metal kit from way back which has the officer with it.

I think the trick is to have few independent pieces that work on their own and that can be combined. Then you attach customer to the brand :) a figure every few month till set is complete :)

To use this on his own is fine, but not near its full potential as a part of the scene, because of power and energy Moz captured so well.

It's a wonderful figure,very good sculpt,
but i agree with some others ,who are looking for a frenchman
