A Fixture
I finally got around to finishing off a few of my own figures (after a lengthy commission piece that was demanding my time). Of course you will recognize this as Elite's Culloden veteran. This is a popular figure for very good reason. According to my sources, some of the highlanders made a last stand against the English at a low stone wall, which I made out of some crushed plaster. I'm not sure if thistle was blooming at that time, but I ask you, how can ye' no put thistle in a setting like this?
I didn't put him in any particular tartan, seeing as most of the "family" tartans were invented and catalogued in the early 1800's, well after Culloden took place (see chapter 11 of Arthur Herman's "How the Scots Invented the Modern World", Three Rivers Press, New York, 2001 ISBN 0-609-80999-7)
As Always I welcome your comments and criticisms. Your past suggestions on groundwork have hopefully made this latest effort a little more pleasing to look at, so keep those ideas coming.
