Hey Planeteers:

I was curious as to what types of primers everyone uses. I've seen articles on white, gray black even diluted putty used for a primer. So what do you all use to prime? Personally I have gotten excellent results using Duplicolor black automotive primer for my figures. It's got great coverarge, drys to the bone very quickly and leaves good tooth for the paint. Let us know.

Personally, I shoot white Testors acrylic throught my airbrush. It gives a good matte finish and a light surface to begin with.

I've never had a problem with the grey automotive primers form my local hardware store. I have found I do need Color Creations primer from Wal Mart for vinyl figures, others just have not worked out!

I've been using an automotive gray primer called Brite Touch which I purchare from my local automotive store, it's cheap and works really well.

Games Workshop makes a white or black figure primer that comes in a large spray can. It covers a figure really well.~Gary

Automotive primer, grey usually. I sometimes use white for a figure or part that's predominantly white or a light colour.
