This one is now finished and the weather played a part, (been cold and wet for quite a while now) so I was able to get more bench time in.
I have painted the buttons on the spatts and would appear to be black from research.
All flesh areas are painted in oil, the rest in acrylic. A nice figure from Troop54.

Bob whats your mix for the red and the pouches? Im doing a Zulu war figure at the moment and would give your mix a try. Ive also got this one coming in the mail.....

Beautifully painted Bob, the light weathering on the uniform & equipment sets the figure off so well.
Thanks for sharing.

That's a winner Bob....great tartan.....(y). Mike

Thank you Chris, Jimmy and Mike, glad you like him.
Jimmy the reds are from the Andrea red set and the white is a base coat of 821 German beige on top of that several thin coats of 986 deck tan. I then used 918 ivory again in thin coats in the recesses. I let this dry thourghly for a day and went back to german beige to bring back the buff leather colour. And that was it

Nice Figure Bob - Love the Tartan very well done and the tonality of the Red coat is very nice too, contrasting with the cold color of the Tartan.

Specially like the groundwork !! cleaver solution

Thanks Nap, I had used my own knee's for reference, turned out well . I thought about using a bigger base but then the figure would have lost.
Regards oh are you going Plymouth?
