I recieved my Streets of Laredo figure in the mail today and was estatic at the detail our fellow member, Joe Hudson, has sculpted into this figure. It took awhile to find the right background color to use with white resin as the head did not show well on a black background.

The kit is comprised of 5 parts with mold blocks attached to prevent breakage durring shipping. Total time to remove mold blocks and sand was 25 minutes. This figure cleaned up easy.

The prospector is kneeling down on one knee and Joe has sculpted the revolver into the belt at the waist with the belt looped down after going through the buckle. Nice detail on the main body part.

The head has exceptional detail for the size of the figure with a well detailed beard and a strand of hair coming down from underneath the hat.

One of the extra bases I ordered from Michael Roberts, "Looking for Emily" will be used for Joe's "Prospector" and I think will give it the atmosphere to tell a story.

Overall this is an exceptional kit sculpted by our own member, Joe Hudson.

Greetings,
I just got delivery on these recently (also the 2 buildings depicting bank and livery) and this entire series looks like it will be a real winner. Joe's sculpting job on this prospector is excellent, and to Guy's point, the head is done with such fine detail, and I especially like the long beard.

I'm not sure if any of the future planned releases will also be done by Joe? They also have female figures planned, which is something to look forward to.

Guy, what will you use on the Roberts base to simulate water?

Regards,
John

Nice review Guy. I like the close ups of the head. That base does set the figure off rather nicely. Joe's currently in S.C. with his toes in the sand and watching his boys run wild at the beach  . He's having the time of his life but I bet he'll really appreciate this when he returns. Like John, I too am looking forward to the future releases in this line. There's so much potential out there and I think this era of history is only just now beginning to be modeled. I am going to get this figure too but now will have to come up with a different idea as a good one was just taken  .

Thanks again,
Jim Patrick

Thanks guys

Marc........I am retired now and all there is to do is paint.....lol........looked forward to this time for years.

John......Not sure about the water yet as I will have to take a piece off the front of the base and may try a different approach than my usual epoxy water. I would like to have a little depth this time. Any suggestions John with what you might carry?

Jim - It was a toss up between this base or the "Pursuit" base. Either would really enhance the figure plus the Pursuit base already has a creek.

Guy...it's great to see how he looks in kit form....Joe as done an superb job...
that face is just astounding and really makes the figure stand out.

Great job Joe.

All the best.

Roy.

Hmmm this figure looks really nice and interested subject. It really makes me want to buy it. hehehe I will prolly give it a shot from Military Miniatures Warehouse.

Guy,

I thanks you and the rest for the kind words and I am glad that you like the figure. I may do a few more for this line, we will have to see if I can do anything els they might like. :)

I look forward to seeing yours and might just have to break down and do one myself.

Joe
