It's been awhile since I've painted one of these but felt the urge again.
This is a 54mm musician of the Prinz von Preussen Cuirassiers based on an illustration by Adolf Menzel. The illustration and other info can be found here....

This is where I am at the moment, the breeches are finished (I think ) and the face is almost done just need to play with the definition of the eyes, the rest is still wip. Painted with oils over acrylic.
Roger.

Hi Roger

Great to see you posting with your flats , looking good already

Colourful as well from the link ...cherrs for that

Following with interest

Why not enter a piece in our FOTM as well ....

We also have a Vignette and Diorama competition which ends on 30/9 so plenty of time to build or enter a piece

Thanks for sharing

Happy benchtime

Nice to see a post from you again, Roger! Are you ashore for a while? Good start on this figure! I look forward to your next update.

Prost!

I like the shading on his Kollet, your shades of yellow are nicely muted. Looking again at his breeches, though, the shadows seem to me a hair dark. Could be my eye.

Prost!

Thanks Brad, yes, you're right the shading on the breeches is dark and intentionally so. Once the rest is shaded in a similar fashion it should make sense..... ir maybe not.

Crikey I thought we had lost you to the dark side forever.:giggle:

Hi Roger,
Nice brush work mate, you've not lost your touch.
cheers
Richie

:ROFLMAO: Cheers Ritchie. You should know I'm likely to crop up unexpectedly like a bad rash.
