I saw this on the El Greco website and thought it would be an interesting variation to my usual fare.
The 1/10 bust is by Altores Studio and is titled 'Punk's Not Dead'.
The hair and 'tartan' patch on the back let me play with my new set of Scalecolor Artist paints.
The rest is painted in oils over enamels, and enamels for the 'scribbles' (which let me clean up easily when I went wrong). The zips and embellishments are El Greco Printer's inks, either neat or, mixed with oils for the steel.

A colourfully detailed piece Andrew with lots of attitude!

Hi Andrew

Now that's definitely a subject I never thought you would paint ....a great result ...love the hair and the tattoos, badges

Quite tempted myself by this ....perhaps this might be the new hairstyle for shows ?

Why not enter a piece into the class of your choice in our OCTOBERS FOTM comp and also vote in SEPTEMBERS classes as well

Hi Kevin,

I must admit, neither did I.
I'm pleased that I did venture out of my comfort zone.
The sculpt is excellent, as is the fit of the parts.
When I got this one, I also got the Mohawk (Altores Studio again).
He's also got a bit of a hairstyle.

Cheers,
Andrew

Excellent !
i love the black leather you have achieved !

Thank you for your kind comment Franck.
For the leather, I first painted it in Humbrol enamel in the colour I wanted to show through in the worn areas.
It was a mix of light brown with a touch of orange.
Once dry, I overpainted with an oil mix of Van Dyke Brown and Mars Black.
This was then wiped down with a soft natural sponge which resulted in highlights and shadows.
A gentle dabbing of the almost dry sponge will replace paint where necessary, and can achieve a bit of a 'crackle' effect on the highlights.
I just keep going until it looks about right; and then leave it to dry thoroughly.

Cheers,
Andrew
