This is the first issue of the new QTM magazine. It is a new Italian model figure magazine that is published in bi-monthly issues and is produced in both Italian and English.

The magazine has 34 pages of excellent content with a range of subjects on painting, step by step articles covering both historical and Fantasy subjects.

All of the articles covered in the magazine are accompanied by high quality photographic prints. There is of course the usual manufacturer adverts but not too many.

I have it allready.
Very good is the English translation because my Italian is nothing.
But i'm not impressed by the magazine itself. Maybe my expectations where to big, i thought it was something like EuroFigura's, Soldatini or HMM.

Already got mine

I liked it. Good translation into English and I'm willing to wait and see how it changes with time. I picked up a couple of good hints from the articles and yes... there is room to improve but, not a bad start at all.

Good luck

Well you now have to share what you were expecting! I'm sure the publisher would like to know and have that valuable feedback.

I wrote it down.
Something like the other figure magazines: for instance, i was a subscriber for HMM, and when this was gone (buy it now as a PDF) i was a subscriber for KitFigurine(German). Before that i bought Figure International but in my opinion to much on Andrea figures and Acrylic.
And then we have the great Spanisch EuroFiguras, and the Italian Soldatini and last but not least Figurine. But my spanisch, italian and french are awefull....
I just hope that one day Eurofiguras is coming with a English translation.

So somewhere between Eurofiguras, Soldatini and Figurine was my expectation for QTM.
It is possible that it grows further, and i hope it. They have a good mix between Acrylic and Oil painters. So i hope that will stay that way.
I really would like more an in depth intervieuw (with Danillo was great but to common and cursory.
And i don't like the half matt paper, i believe that a glossy will give more to the pictures.
Because untill know its the only English Magazine that covers only figures. So i buy the next one to.
It must have time to grow, and i can only hope that it will beat HMM in quality and quantitiy. The fundation is layed for that.

I would echo Tommi's comments on this magazine, I think we need to support it and give it time to grow. It seems that Historical Miniatures is all but finished the PDF was fine but just try to get it printed at a reasonable price!? With half the world speaking English it is remarkable that no one seems able to produce a magazine in English that is a viable concern. QTM, even so, is produced in Italy and translated I believe by Celine of El Greco Miniatures. Although it is fairly low on content at the moment it is a massive undertaking to launch a new magazine and almost half the price of the other offerings on the market. I hope everyone will get behind this publication and help it to grow-like Marc I think Figure International is too Andrea/Acrylic biased unsurprisingly, it would be good to have a more neutral competitor.

Hello everyone,

Thanks for showing support for the magazine and thanks for the review Tommi. From our part, we can see that there is a need for a magazine with English content as the response has been overwhelming worldwide and it is selling well. I will make sure that the editor, Fabrizio de Petrillo, follows the thread as he is relying on feedback from readers to ensure that the magazine grows. The first issue was just 32 pages but they promise to increase the number of pages, as well as the variety in the content.

As Keith mentioned above, it is quite an undertaking to launch a new magazine in the current economic climate. In the early stages of its inception, we as El Greco put in our proposal to translate the magazine articles to/from English as we were aware that there was a gap in the market - and with English articles, the magazine would have a boost in readership. So far this has been proven correct.

The magazine can only grow with modellers' support so if you feel that you can contribute in any way, do get in touch with Fabrizio. Articles are welcomed from contributors worldwide so why not put pen to paper?

Regarding dealers in the USA, we have contacted some dealers/ distributors and shortly Chuck at Red Lancers will have some copies. Otherwise at present it's available from QTM or ourselves.

Once again, thanks for your feedback.

Hi Marc,

It's at the printers as we "speak" so it should be available very shortly.

Celine
