Hi Samson, for another perspective, IMO there is no mystique about Oils, they are the same pigments just using a different binder, you can get a great effect with oils or acrylic or tempera it's just a matter of adjusting your technique to the different medium.

When painting with oils, I use an acrylics as a base coat only. No shading or highlighting
