Oil.
As far as I can discern, the oil I got with my pump is the refined Mineral oil type (water-clear, no odor). The directions call for checking for contamination after each use and changing completely after 30 days. This seems a bit excessive to me. I know these are designed for evacuation refrigerant that probably fouls oil relatively quickly, but I'm just pulling air (low humidity at that).
Some bits I've read mentioned running the same oil for 2000 hours.
What is your experience?
I know your situation (shop, use, etc) may be completely different than mine, so I'm not looking for an exact answer to hold anyone to, but I'd like to know which end of that huge spectrum I should expect.
Also, what would be a sign of oil contamination, turning white?
