I like to work on one figure at a time. I find that I finish more figures that way. It has worked out well for me so far. Its about discipline for me. Between kids, wife and work it pretty hard to focus as it is.

Too many on the go at once (figures and tanks), too few getting finished!!!

Currently I have 15 figures on the go in various stages of completion, and half a dozen 1/35 tanks,

I've also recently got into the bad habit of stripping down old figures that I did some years back but am no longer happy with, and giving them "makeovers" as well (these being figures that are now OOP and/or would be expensive to buy again).

I worked out last year that at my current rate of building/painting/finishing I have about 15 years worth of models in the stash to get through. Yet still I buy more. It's sheer madness - but I don't care!

I know for a fact that the right brained, creative type suffers from this continually. This very topic was discussed at one of the annual American Society of Aviation Artist Forums. We seem to always have 1 on the easel, 2 that are in various stages of completion and a sketchbook "filled" with ideas. For me it's a matter of how much time I can spend on the research aspect of a project. As a professional illustrator the client dictates how much time I can spend, but on my own stuff (including painting figures) I seem to bounce around a bit. I keep in mind that it's a hobby and there are no rules regarding how many projects I've got going. Now for my wife, that's a different issue...

I used to start a lot of projects and let them unfinished. So I decided to try to discipline myself and do only one at the same time. In my case, is the only way to do a figure more complex or big than the average 54mm miniature.
In this moment, I have made an exception with a Metal Modeles chasseur on horseback that I have started and left aside to finish another project that has to be done earlier, but only because is the second item in my list...
I even have finished the miniature of the cossack that I'm using for the online course, but still will be a while before I show it ;)

Clint have similar problems with G/w figures have about 50 on the go but with Sculpts I need a few on the go or I overwork the one I am doing - Have 4 ready for painting and 1 that needs refining and one 70% done

Sounds about like me Ian, I have an empire batallion and a Brettonian batallion both half assembled as well as several, several individual models. Archaon, Gorbash, high elf chariot.......I'm all over the place with that stuff lol!

I´ve got about 30 projects on the go...several long term ones that have been going, of and on for a couple of years now. Also a lot of mini projects due to wanting to paint everything modelwise I see :)
Oh and a couple of new projects planned

Yeah i got loads goin on personal wise :) and an entire conservatory full of forgotten about ambition and not even started projects. but thats the hobby i believe.
