Question on Iroquois head dress

Hey, all -

I'm in the short rows on the Stormtrooper PPST40 Iroquois Indian 2 bust. The online illustrations I can find show that a long, sort of tassled piece (included in the kit) is attached in the middle of the head gear and extends out in back. However, I've had no luck in any other pics, views, books, or sites finding an example of that configuration. Can anyone offer any insight on just what that is (material-wise), and where I might find any other illustrations of it?

Thanks, Nap, but none of those look like what I'm seeing. I'm attaching two more pics, one a side view and one end view. The side view looks like it could be feathers, maybe, but the end view not so much (to my eye).
