I thought i'd post some early stage pictures of the painting of the quint bust.

i'd like to point out that at this stage I still have a few things to do to tidy the facial and hair areas up,so this is by no means the final painted face.

When I set about painting quint it was always my intension to grub him up a little and give him that rough look of a sea warrior, for this I would add the 5 o'clock shadow with also some dirt or oil stains which he'd probably picked up from the orca.
I must point out that my camera hasn't captured the 5 oclock shadow to well and I think I may have used a little too much light, however I can assure you the 5 oclock shadow area has turned out roughly as i'd imagined it,i just need to tweak it a little.

The cap has had some attension and again I've blended some dirt into this, this again will need just a little bit more attension.

I plan to add a medium brown wash to tone down the hair,in the movie quints hair had areas of grey mixed in with the brown,so another sitting on this should sort that problem.

this is a big face to paint which would give me the oppourtunity to get a lot more detail into it and achieve some added depth.

I quite happy with the progress so far and its coming together has I had originaly planned.

the shirt still has the acrylic base colour as does the combat jacket, these will be finished once all the head painting is finished.
