I'm glad that I'm not the only one that cannot see any resemblance to any hollywood actor in this one. All I see is a very fine looking bust.

A classic case of the power of suggestion, Billy. A common phenomenon that's been well documented in human psychology: Someone suggests something, and all of a sudden others start seeing it too. In this case that a sculpt that looks absolutely nothing like Brad Pitt is in fact Brad Pitt miniaturised in resin. I'm not an expert in the field but I think it's called "non-hypnotic imaginitive suggestibility" or something like that. The human mind works in mysterious ways!

A great bust, I saw Brad the moment I saw it and hadn't read the thread, I thought it was actually a film I had missed. Maybe we just have an imagination :)
That said, nothing can take away it is a superb piece.
Well done to Young miniatures again.

Superb sculpting and painting and congratulations on your 50th release, may there be many more to come.(y)

Cheers Ken

Sorry, I am not buying this! As pointed out in previous posts, some viewers saw Pitt without ANY prompting from others.

If others fail to see the resemblance to Brad Pitt, then that is because it is not a "perfect" likeness. But I am betting that Young used pics of Pitt as a reference. What he has captured is a "character". I cannot speak for Young, but I almost always use photos for reference when sculpting faces. Unless it is intended to be a portrait, I do not care if the likeness is dead on. It is more important to impart an individual character to the sculpt. If it falls short of a great likeness, but still has chacter, then I still consider the sculpt a success.

The character in that face comes shining through. In my book, that is nothing but a success story. (y)

No psychological explanations were invoked in the making of this post..... ;)

Yes you're right. Both have hair, two eyes, a nose and a mouth. And that ferret moustache clinches it. Clearly I'm talking cods.

I think we can agree that it is a very nice bust though.

Don't see what all the fuss is about : it looks a great addition to their range .
Could this bee the next one

it's still a cracking bust of a subject that I always felt were badly maligned after the war and never really got the recognition from the top down (including Churchill)they deserved

I couldn't agree more. The fatality rate in bomber command was 45%, only exceeded by the U Boat service. Unfortunately my father was terminally ill when the Bomber Command Memorial was formally dedicated, but one of his crew members managed to make it over from Australia. They were very brave young men, especially the tail-end charlies (rear gunners), who disgracefully were labelled LMF (lack of moral fibre) when suffering from battle fatigue.

I am also in agreement.

There has also been too much politically-correct hand-wringing in recent years over the rights and wrongs of the bombing campaign, by which I mean too much judging history by the standards of what is and what is not "acceptable" today. This ranges from simply glossing over their contribution towards the defeat of Nazi Germany, to even going so far as to calling these brave young men "war criminals". That always annoys me.

From a business side I don't want to upset anyone.
From a modeller side as above :)
A superb piece but I am really glad a man of boneheads status has said it as it is.
If I had I would have been slated, cheers mike, as you say superb sculpt but I ain't loosing my mind then :)
It is brad or a resemblance of 95% at least, or have I been sucked in to the same mass delusion that the others are, if so I will stay because it is obviously we are more perceptive and can see the wood for the trees

Best wishes
