Nice paint job, as for the sculpt, that panel with D ring should go all the way to the release box, the box is held onto that panel fwd of the D ring with a strap sewn onto the panel near the D ring and ends with TWO 'release the dot' fasteners just beyond the release box., box can slide up/down on that strap.
As such if he got out of that chair the panel would swing backwards and slap his left thigh, he certainly would not get far running in it, and would be dead if he bailed out ! A massive mistake in sculpting is that.
