during the Hundred years War, Raoul Iv of Brienne re-conquered many french cities occupied by the English, before being captured at the battle of Caen (Normandy) in 1346.
After having paid his ransom demand, he made several journeys back to england, and therfore was suspected of treason by the french king Jean II le Bon, and finished captured and beheaded without trial in 1350.

The fig is a conversion from 75mm knights from Pegaso and Romeo and some scratch work.
The heraldry is rather complex, ans was not the easiest to paint.

Top-notch painting all round and some amazing heraldry. It's colourful without being garish. Stunning.
