This is the first of 2 reviews for Model Cellar Productions and depicts Raoul Lufbery with his Lion Cub mascots during the Lafayette Escadrille, 1917. The kit is a 120mm resin cast and is in 9 pieces.

The kit comes carefully wrapped in a parts bag surrounded with bubble wrap with Styrofoam chips down inside the box to elimate any damage during shipping.

The kit consists of 9 resin cast parts in a yellow resin with little to no flash or seam lines. What small seams I did detect were minimal and easily cleaned / scraped with an z-acto knife.

The kit also has a complete instruction / color guide with references listed for further use.

The main trunk of the figure is loaded with clean crisp detail as to the chest medals and careful attention to the drapery and folds of the uniform. The right arm is bent at the waist with the hand holding a cigarette. The left arm goes down where he is holding his hand in his left pocket.

There is no[/b[ seam lines on the head or mold plugs and the head fits right down into the shoulder / collar socket.

A closer look at the head shows the detail sculpted into the figure.

The right arm shown below has the hand attached holding a cigarette in a casual pose when attached to the body. Dry fitting showed a tight fit with no filling needed. Excellent joints.

The stockings and shoes are sculpted with excellent detail with the fabric of the socks actually being visable.

Last, but not least, Whiskey and Soda, the two Lion cubs which are done in a perfect likeness to actual lion cubs and are little gems to this kit.

Conclusion

An excellent kit with absolutely fantastic attention to detail from one of the older Masters of our hobby, Jim Payette. Very little seam line and estimated time to prepare this kit for priming would be 5 to 10 minutes. Highly recommended for those interested in the WW1 era.
